Australia

Over A$500 billion dollars worth of goods are traded to and from Australia each year. In addition, over A$110 billion in services were traded in 2011-12. Imports of services outweigh exports of services, providing clear opportunities for entering this lucrative market. In 2010-11, the market for goods and services procured by the Australian Government in contracts over A$10,000 was A$33 billion.

Accountability mechanisms in Australia mean that there are stringent rules and processes which must be followed in order to compete in the market for Australian Government supply. For example, over 50 whole of government requirements must be considered by agencies in ICT procurement. The Australian Public Service employs almost 170,000 people in around 120 organisations, both within Australia and around the world. There is no single purchasing decision-making body, and thousands of people across the agencies make purchasing decisions every day.

The Beyond Business Connections team provides the expertise, knowledge and experience to navigate through the complex requirements and achieve excellent results for our clients, with all members having been directly involved in purchasing decisions or supply arrangements to government. Around 60% of suppliers to the Australian Government are small-medium enterprises, so Contact Us now to become one of them.

Or, if you are seeking to move into new markets outside Australia, Beyond Business Connections also has the capability to assist you to access global markets.
